With a ton of work in preparing this year's market season...WE ARE READY! Now all we need is the sun to warm things up, the grass to get greener, and YOU, the community, to make this year's market season a HUGE success.

We have over 65 vendors, and still counting, and we anticipate that this year the market will be the best it's ever been. We have 13 board members who have been busy behind the scenes getting things ready. Our vendors have been even busier gathering their wares, building their stock and preparing to show off their talents and treasures.

This year we are focusing on moving towards zero waste and our vendors are doing their part to make this happen. We are also focusing on local, sustainable and organic. Buzz words at any market, these catch words are more than just ideas, they are what is needed to build strong communities, create healthy environments and establish what's best for the collective whole.

If you are curious about what it means to shop local, buy sustainable and choose organic we at the James Bay Market would love to offer some suggestions. Shopping local is the means to keep dollars in our own community, which in turn supports crafters and artisans who earn a living by offering their natural talents. Buying sustainable means that we are consuming only what we need, and reduces the amount of waste generated by mass consumerism. Choosing organic means that we are supporting our fragile eco-system, and in turn we are creating healthy environments in our bodies, in our homes and in our neighborhood.

With this said, we at the James Bay Market extend a warm welcome to all of those in the community who wish to experience the bounty of the island, the freshest of fresh produce and the good times of free live music. And so it begins, The James Bay Market 2014 season!
