Albert

Albert was an earth worm

            and lived deep under ground

He never saw the sunlight

            and seldom heard a sound.

Albert was quite long and thin –

            and sort of purplish pink

He didn’t really have a brain

            so had few thoughts to think.

One day he started chatting –

            At last! he’d made a friend

then found he’d spend an hour

            talking to his other end.
