Greenpeace vessel Esperanza arrived at Ogden Point April 17. It is in the Pacific to take part in a recent protest against Arctic drilling. The US government recently approved a drilling lease for Shell Oil in the Alaskan Arctic, and work is expected to start in June. Protesters from the Esperanza boarded the Polar Pioneer, one of two drilling vessels that Shell will use in the Chukchi Sea this summer.
