You're never far from an available, affordable book in James Bay. True book addicts can take comfort in the fact that whether they want to buy, borrow, take or give away a book, there is ample opportunity within walking distance.

The well-established used book store portion of James Bay Coffee & Books is a great place to unload old books (check with the store about what they're currently accepting) or to load up on new-to-you ones at a fair price. The store has good selections of almost all genres.

The James Bay Community Project has a small but well-stocked library. Wander in and check out the titles - there's a big variety in a small space. A volunteer or staff person can help you with the lending process.  The JBCP Library also has a great selection of kids' books.

If you have limited shelf space and like to rotate your books frequently, then you should check out the small free book exchange at Niagara Grocery. In a space that used to hold potato chips and trashy magazines, Jennifer and Ken now have a few shelves of books -mostly paperbacks - that you can take for free. You are also more than welcome to add to the stash, if you have books you are no longer reading. The selection is surprisingly eclectic, and turns over rapidly, so you're sure to find something that appeals.
