Thank God for Life
Mar 2011
Thank God for life,
though this world has much strife
I'm so glad to be alive
Oh God! For your goodness and blessings to me at ninety five..
I was in hospital for my birthday.
Frances Witt came most every day
And for December 21, she brought me a little cake,
Lit a candle, gave me a card and gift, also.
I got over 40 cards & greetings from family, friends and staff,
So I was remembered in so many a way.
I am so glad to be home in my little nest,
Thank you, Danny, for doing your best,
Restoring my bathroom & kitchen like new,
What a blessing - more than a few!
The temple, a teacher builds will last while the ages roll,
For, that beautiful unseen temple - was a child's immortal soul.
If any little thought of ours, can make one life stronger,
If any cheery smile of ours can make its brightness longer.
Then, let us speak that thought today with tender eyes aglowing,
That God may grant some weary one, will reap from our glad sowing.
On Easter morn, 11 years ago, my son Don died.
Oh! How we all cried!
Like Abraham Lincoln, he always plucked a thistle &
planted a flower where he thought one would grow.
He was right, though results may be slow.
The hands of Jesus seem frail,
For they were broken by a nail?
Only they reach heaven at last
Whom these frail hands hold fast.
Only God can fully satisfy our heart,
Jesus rose on Easter & from Him, let us not depart!
A Happy & Blessed Easter To Everyone.
