Mother Earth
Jun 2011
Hurrah! The sun rose again this morn
And likely it will be set again this eve.
Good fortune ours to here-in dwell, to be born
Our Mother Earth her children ne'er will leave.
For as she whirls her minuet in space
She echoes frigid moon from seething sun
And shelters us within her warm embrace
Until another day is spun.
This has been so, but will it ever be?
Can she and we continue in this round
In which we ravage her and say we're free?
Our history answers yes, but here's news found.
Earth's children have laid waste her fertile forces.
She shrugs and says: No renewable resources.
