Song of the Crab

Sep 2011

I am a red seafarin' crab

For hours I sits quite idle

And just as folks say, "Look 'es dead!"

That's when I starts to sidle

Oh I sidles over seaweed

And I sidles over rocks

I sidles over bathers' feet

And give them nasty shocks

My family all liked sideling

We sidled quite a lot

I had an uncle sidled once

Into a lobster pot

For him no happy ending

To this shanty type of ballad

He turned up in a restaurant

In someone's seafood salad
