Just want to say a heartfelt "Thank you" to all my faithful readers for your support over the years. It is interesting how one success leads to another. My published articles in the Beacon helped land me a paid gig at a beautiful local magazine. The confidence I developed through my work at the Beacon helped give me the courage to pursue a career at the BC Schizophrenia Society Victoria Branch. I love working at a place that has healed and transformed so many lives.

This summer, I co-facilitated a Recovery Group for Youth at the BCSS. And recently, one remarkable participant from the group nominated me for a Victoria Leadership Award to recognize my mentorship role with youth and adults.

Before I started at the Beacon, I was stuck in limbo, going nowhere. But look what happened when one positive experience rippled over the pond, creating more and more. The Beacon is where it all started. Thank you dear readers for being there all the way.

With scribbler in hand and an eye to the next story, I look forward to many more years at the best community newspaper in Victoria.

Happy New Year to all!
