Lonely Garden

Apr 2012

Chill winds are rippling

      the grass in your garden.

The lilacs need pruning,

      and ask for your pardon.

New daffodils wave

from the edge of the pond,

to their images haloed in gold.

New scilla are spreading

      around at their feet,

they're looking bright blue

      in the cold.

It's springtime once more.

      Courageous and splendid.

Though my heart aches in sorrow,

for a time that has ended.

But; if there be somewhere,

      Celestial gardens,

I know now,

      that one there,

      is well loved and tended.
