Letter – James Bay has the advantage
Jun 2012
James Bay will not kick the bedroom-community-mode in its relationship with the City of Victoria until we who live here "take charge" of how its image is perceived.
With the cruise ships docking at our back door, we're but a pit stop to Downtown. They get all the business; we get all the taxis and pollution. We are little more than a spot on a map. With a small voice.
With time seemingly standing still, we are lulled into not giving much
thought for change. We feel nice and comfortable with the status quo.
However, could this situation be improved if we were to plan now for
unavoidable growth and how to promote a new, bold identity for this most strategically-located community? A community of concrete buildings, like those in Vancouver's West End? A new James Bay?
With that in mind, there is need for a logo and slogan. And promotion. Let's think, "James Bay Has the Advantage," and go on from there.
Seriously. Cruise ships?
Bring them on!
