Three big events planned

Hope everyone is enjoying Summer! By the time this goes to print, children will be getting ready to go back to school, Moms will be getting back to the routine of getting children up and ready, packing lunches and scurrying to get children off to school. At New Horizons we will be preparing for a busy Fall schedule.

Three big events will be kicking off September. Our annual Open House will be held on Saturday, September 8 from 10:00-2:00. We hope you will take this opportunity to drop by and hear about the new classes and activities that will be happening. Instructors will be here and you will have the opportunity to talk one on one about a particular program.

In cooperation with the James Bay Community Project and Community Centre, we will be hosting James Bay Celebrates Victoria's 150^th on Saturday, September 15^th. Various events will be taking place around venues in and around James Bay. We are delighted to be hosting a Victorian Fashion Show and Tea. Victoria Heritage Fashions will be showing some of the designs of the 1800's up to 1920's. A light lunch will be served and we look forward to seeing you here. Tickets ($3.00) are available at the reception desk.

I would like to take this opportunity to give a BIG Thank You to everyone that has been so supportive to our Centre.

We held a Bottle Drive in June and were very pleased that we were able to raise over $700.00. These funds will be used to support our Reassurance and our Friendly Visits Programs. Many thanks to everyone that saved bottles and cans for this project, it is greatly appreciated.

From September 14-28^th we will be hosting our Annual Silent Auction and we do hope you will drop by and see what great items we have. Be sure to check on items that you have bid on ands make sure that the competition has not out bid you. Great bargains are to be had.
