Managed by the community owned Victoria Community Health Co-operative (VCHC), the Co-op Community Health Centre (CCHC) has been offering integrative primary health care services to Victorians since September of 2010. In recognition of our innovative model, solid business practice, and excellent community service, our co-operative and health centre was recently awarded the BC Co-operative Association's "Most Distinguished Co-op of the Year" award for 2012.
Our interdisciplinary health care team includes five family physicians, a naturopathic doctor, a mental health counselor, a homeopathic doctor, an energy medicine practitioner, and three medical office assistants (MOAs). We offer MSP covered courses in stress management, and educational seminars on Nutrition, Women's Health and many other wellness topics.
In the fall of 2012 we will be welcoming two additional family physicians to our team and are currently accepting new patients for these practices. If you, or someone you know, are looking for a family doctor, please come to our health centre at 547 Michigan Street to pick up an application form. As so many Victorians do not have a family doctor, preference will be given to people who do not currently have a physician.
As our CCHC and outreach health services and programs continue to grow, we wish to thank the James Bay Community Project and all of our other community partners for their ongoing support. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent and compassionate integrative primary care services to people in James Bay and Victoria for years to come.
