Tea capital of Canada
Feb 2013
By Penny Pitcher
Victoria is the tea capital of Canada. So, it is only fitting that The Victoria Tea Festival, the largest public tea exhibition in North America, is taking place right here in Victoria on Saturday, February 9th at the Crystal Garden.
And this year, Tea, the world's most popular beverage after water, will be joined by -- COFFEE.
Learn everything you always wanted to about how those leaves and beans become the elixir in your cup or mug. Sample beverages prepared by over 40 local, national, and international exhibitors. Shop for tea and coffee-related products. Bid for items in the silent auction. Enjoy one, or all five, presentations.
As well as supporting the tea industry and local coffee houses, The Victoria Tea Festival, which involves over 200 volunteers, is the main fundraiser for Camosun College Childcare Services which operates five licensed centres on both campuses.
So, loose leaf or tea bag, chai or latté, try them all at The Victoria Tea Festival, 11 to 5, Saturday, February 9th.
