Long Time Volunteers Recognized at AGM

Catriona Campbell and Sandra Burgess present 10 year volunteer service pin to Alan Mayhew




James Bay Community Project held their annual meeting on June 10. Along with the business of the AGM, including presentation of financial statements and reports, the main theme of the evening was recognition of long-time volunteers. Thirty-six volunteers in total were recognized for long service, with volunteers receiving pins for 5, 10 and 15 years of volunteer service. Catriona Campbell, coordinator of volunteers, with the help of Sandra Burgess, recognized and thanked the following volunteers:

5 Years Service: Barbara Rozel, Bill Rozel, Marie Feakins, Art Shaw, Frank Gascoyne, Tom Murphy, Harry Walker, Peter Strauss, Dave Platt, Madeleine Gomes, Gil Marks, Jessica Maron, Elizabeth Fagan, Laurie Fairweather, Marlene Drew, Glen Kelly, Sharon Day, Michelle Tooke, Janice Hudlin, Lynette McCaw, Bill White, David Kitely, Kylie Militello, Elaine Waistell, Libby Robbins.

10 Years Service: Jeni Braden, Pauline Kelly, Peggie Law, Sharon Russell, Alan Mayhew, Kay Thompson, Rob Cochran, Chris Hackett, Tony Monicure.

15 Years Service: Terry Brown, Maria van Sloun.

The evening also included a short presentation on JBCP’s programs and services, and election of Board Directors. Board Directors include Mavis DeGirolamo, David Rand, Jackie MacDonald, Faye Zinck, Jim McDavid, Minnie Clark, Richard Almond and Diana Keating. We are delighted to have such a knowledgeable and committed group of volunteer directors, and thank them for their support and guidance. A special thanks to Mavis DeGirolamo, who continues on as our dedicated Board Chair, bringing her fine blend of skill, experience and humour to the task.
