Canadian Pacific Lawn Bowling ClubThe Canadian Pacific Lawn Bowling Club is looking for new members.  Try your hand at lawn bowling, croquet and bocce ball.  The Canadian Pacific Lawn Bowling club is an oasis on the James Bay border and surrounded by the Crystal Gardens Conference Centre, majestic hotels and hi-rise condos.  The Canadian Pacific Lawn Bowling club has served Victoria for 88 years. A stream still runs underground and flows into the Inner Harbour and was once part of a native canoe route.

The club was incorporated under the Societies Act in 1959. It was granted lease privileges by the City of Victoria and is now a fixture in the heart of Victoria with a beautiful green space bordered by rows of roses and perennial plants tended by club member volunteers. Robert Trevor remembers earning 25 cents for rolling the lawn when his grandfather presided in 1955.

Lawn bowling basics may be researched at , (eg equipment, the lingo, the bowlers, the shots, pace of the green, stance on the mat, line of aim, and etiquette). The delivery instructions are precise!

Croquet can be played by a wide range of people and is a game of pure skill and strategy. It took England by storm in the 1860's and spread overseas from France during the reign of Charles II of England.

Bocce ball is a sport being added and is closely related to 'bowls' with a common ancestry from ancient games played during the Roman Empire and developed in Italy 1630-1685.

Lawn bowling can be traced to the 13th century world's oldest bowling green in Southampton first used in 1299.
