On December 3rd, how about a late day meet up with friends for shopping, music, munchies, and groceries, all in one location? A cuppa with entertainment? A night outing with the family right here in James Bay? With new hours - 3pm to 9pm - the annual Dickens Fair awaits you!

At the James Bay Community School Centre (140 Oswego) the Fair becomes a festive evening winter market full of activity. Creative artisan and craftspeople showcase their individual talents with JURIED handmade and homegrown products. The Chicken Lady brings her child-friendly feathered friends to touch and hold . How many kids get to meet a chicken?  A variety of musicians, singers, and actors entertain every hour. How does wool from a sheep become yarn? Visit the spinning wheel demonstration. Help the young ones make a simple craft. Watch a blacksmith in action. Take a break in the community Cafe for Silk Road tea, Mile 0 Coffee, or hot apple cider to warm your insides. Feeling hungry? Nutritious light meals and snacks will satisfy. You will find items for decor or practical use, for yourself or others: pottery, knitted and crocheted clothing, and jewellery, maple cutting boards, decorative artworks, children's clothing, woven baskets, seeds, cosmetics, Christmas ornaments, metalwork, soaps, designer cards, candles, greenery and more.
